A Chicago Valentine

Joy volunteers at the Shedd Aquarium, so for Valentine's Day, she got me in for free and I looked around while she worked. It's not nearly as impressive as the Academy of Sciences, but the best part - the Oceanarium - was under construction, so I have yet to see the entire aquarium.

Nickle the Sea Turtle was hit by the propeller of a boat. the damage to her shell was so severe that her tail floats higher than the rest of her body. This makes swimming difficult for her and it makes her look pretty funny

.

After Joy finished working we headed off to Lincoln Park for a well deserved $4 cupcake from
Molly's Cupcakes. We met up with Kaela and her boyfriend there and took some pretty adorable pictures. I now aspire to be a cupcake baker rather than a flight attendant.

Finally, after the pre-dinner cupcakes, Joy and I went off to a really strange theater to see "The Reader." So good! Kate Winslet's performance almost made me want to see "Revolutionary Road." Almost.
